Andrew Rasmussen is a NYC-based Creative Director passionate about big-hearted storytelling — often involving puppets, cats, lasers, or electric guitars. His work has taken him from Radio City Music Hall to Tokyo, from writing arena shows for Blippi to Directing circus in China and musicals across Europe and Asia. He’s collaborated with Broadway Asia, Twyla Tharp, The Second City, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Music Theatre International — usually without needing a translator.

He co-wrote and directed Mrs. Smith’s Broadway Cat-Tacular! Off-Broadway (“Oddly poignant!” – The New York Times, “Off its meds! Hilarious!” – The Boston Globe), followed by the intergalactic rock sequel Mrs. Smith & Carlyle: To Mars and Back Again! at Berkeley Rep. He’s staged immersive productions of RENT and ROCKY HORROR LIVE in an 8,000-square-foot warehouse (“Truly a One-of-a-kind Experience!” – CBS), and continues to cook up delightfully off-kilter work with artists he admires who are kind enough to say yes.

He directed the Hallmark feature romcom A CONFLICT OF LOVE INTEREST, which premiered to real audiences in Serbia and Croatia (no, seriously — hey Mom I did it!), and his puppet film Christmas 1976 earned honors including LA Film Award and Independent Shorts Award. A graduate of NYU/Tisch School of the Arts Drama, Andrew performed internationally from Radio City Music Hall to Tokyo. You may have seen his feet tap dancing on Broadway or his dead body on all three Law & Order series (for which his family has yet to watch).
